JobFill Privacy Policy

JobFill helps you fill out job-application forms using a profile you save yourself. Your information stays on your own device. JobFill does not have a server, does not transmit your data anywhere, and does not have access to anything you save.
What information JobFill stores
JobFill only stores the information you choose to enter on its options page so it can fill forms for you later. This may include:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your mailing address
- Links you provide (such as LinkedIn, GitHub, or a portfolio)
- Work-authorization and sponsorship preferences
- Your extension settings and a small record of your most recent fill (a count and timestamp)
You decide what to enter. You can leave any field blank, and you can change or erase your information at any time.
Where your information is kept
All of your information is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local on the device where JobFill is installed. It never leaves your device.
What JobFill does not do
- It does not send your information to us or to any server, because there is no server.
- It does not make any network requests or contact any external service.
- It does not share, sell, or rent your information to anyone.
- It does not track your browsing, use analytics, or build a profile of you.
- It does not submit any application on your behalf — you always review and submit forms yourself.
Browser permissions and why they are needed
- Storage — to save your profile locally on your device so you do not have to retype it.
- Active tab — to access the form on the page you are currently viewing, and only when you click to fill it.
- Scripting — to place your saved information into the form fields on that page when you ask it to.
JobFill requests no host permissions. It can only act on a page at the moment you click to fill it.
Your control over your information
You can view, edit, or clear your saved information at any time from the JobFill options page. Removing or uninstalling the extension deletes all of the information JobFill has stored on your device.
Children's privacy
JobFill is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised date above.
